DALEWOOD GLULAM ROOF

The glulam roof has now been installed at our Dalewood project in Box Hill, and is looking fantastic in the sunshine! The Siberian larch works compositely with a plywood decking to create a feature cantilevering canopy extending from rear bedrooms and over the garden. We’re particularly grateful to Bucklands Timber for their hard work on this project, who have worked with us and the architect to deliver the complex geometry and manage interfaces with other contractors and materials.

Dalewood is a residential extension project for a young family who have two sons with Duchene’s Muscular Dystrophy. We are working with Tigg Coll Architects to open up the existing property and provide additional ground floor space that can be adapted to the changing needs of the family. The gluam roof helps to create a relationship between the inside and outside spaces, connecting and the wooded garden to open plan living spaces and bedrooms at the rear of the house.
