We’re really excited to see that the composite glulam roof for our Dalewood project is almost ready to be installed. To help prevent problems on site, the specialist glulam supplier, Bucklands Timber, has undertaken a test fitting of the roof to make sure that the complex diagrid fits together correctly. As the bottom surface of the glulams are tapered, the test fitting has been undertaken with the roof inverted.
Dalewood is a residential extension for a family with two children with Duchene’s Muscular Dystrophy. We are working with Tigg Coll Architects to open up the existing property and create additional ground floor space that can be adapted and altered to suit the changing requirements of the family. The glulam roof helps to create a relationship between the inside and outside spaces, cantilevering out to form an unobstructed canopy to the rear of the property.
Thank you to Bucklands for the photographs of the roof test fitting, it looks great and we can't wait to see the roof in place on Box Hill shortly!.
